Trusting God’s word to you

Do you believe God’s word? Is it something you can bank on? When God speaks, is there ever a hidden motive? These might sound like silly questions but in reality they are not. Many people question God’s word. Even when they know God has clearly spoken to them, they struggle with trusting Him. Some people believe that He exists but doubt that they can trust Him with all of their life. Some are uncertain that He really cares or has good intentions towards them. The truth is that He cares for us (more than we can even comprehend) and He has nothing but the best intentions.

Proverbs 8 is one big plea for us to have confidence in God’s word and specifically the wisdom of His word. I particularly like verse 8 which says:

“All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; nothing crooked or perverse is in them.”

Whenever the Lord directs you, it is only with a pure motive that will lead to peace and prosperity. Whenever you hear His wisdom, it is never to hurt you or frustrate your joy. There is nothing crooked or perverse in His wisdom. That’s awesome!

The reason God is pointing this out is because there are other types of wisdom that are crooked and perverse. The wisdom of this world spans the gamut, from how to take advantage of the opposite sex to how to cheat on your income taxes. Wisdom generally answers the “how-to’s” of life but only one source is pure. Every word that comes from God’s mouth is wisdom you can trust. It will only uplift you and exalt you.

Is there any wisdom, counsel, and/or direction the Lord has given you that you have yet to act on? Trust His word today and make a decision to step out in faith.

Love,

Ernst
